                                                     3.  Compensation

 Claims for compensation for death / injury of a passenger in train accident or untoward incident are decided by the Railway Claims Tribunal having jurisdiction over the site of accident.

  The Tribunal has 22 benches at 19 major cities in the country viz.

1) Ahmedabad 2) Bangalore3) Bhopal 4) Bhubaneswar 5) Mumbai 6)   Kolkata 7) Chandigarh 8)   Ernakulum 9) Guwahati10) Gorakhpur 11) Jaipur 12)  Luck now 13) Chennai  14)  Delhi  15) Nagpur 16) Patna 17) Secunderabad     18) Ghaziabad19) Ranchi

    (Three benches at Kolkata and two at Delhi).

   A list showing headquarters of each Bench of the Railway Claims Tribunal and their territorial jurisdiction is enclosed as annexure I. The postal address and FAX numbers of Railway Claims Tribunals are enclosed as annexure – II.
