                                                                        Claims for Goods and Parcels

 Non-receipt of goods and parcels can be reported to the Non Receipt Cell (NR Cell) at the Head Quarters Office or at Divisional Offices for tracing the goods/parcels. For goods and parcels not   received, short received or damaged, a claim has to be made to the Chief Commercial Manager (Claims), S.E.Railway, NKG Building (10th floor) 14, Strand Road/Kolkata –1 for consignments booked to stations over S.E.Railway. Claims can also be registered and status thereof can be known by logging on to the claims Web site www. claims. indianrail.gov.in .The address of HQ NR Cell S. E.Rly:- 14, Strand Road (10th floor), Kolkata –1.Phone No. 2210-6179.

·         Claims have to be made in prescribed format. 

·         Necessary documents along with claim application. should be enclosed.

·         Claims have to be preferred within 6 months from the date of entrustment/booking of the Railways Act, 1989, the consignor should declare the value of the consignment and pay percentage charge on excess value in order to be eligible for compensation equal to actual value of the loss suffered. Otherwise, the Claimant will only be compensated subject to a maximum of Rs.100/- per Kg. for baggage and Rs. 50/- per Kg. for other goods.
