SER GEARS UP MEASURES TO PREVENT COVID-19 WITH FACE MASKS & SANITIZER

With a view to prevent the spread of COVID-19, South Eastern Railway is making all out efforts to supplement the Railway Health Care initiatives as per the guidelines of ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research), Govt. of India. In this direction, South Eastern Railway is producing reusable face masks and hand sanitizer in-house in all its four divisions viz. Kharagpur, Adra, Ranchi, Chakradharpur and also at Kharagpur Workshop.
South Eastern Railway has produced a total number of 31,501 reusable face masks and 2,493 litres of hand sanitizer in-house till now. Adra Division of SER has taken lead in producing of 10,316 number of face masks while Kharagpur Division has produced 9,390 face masks. Ranchi Division has produced 8,345 face masks and Chakradharpur Division has produced 2,100 face masks. Kharagpur Workshop itself has also produced 1,350 face masks.
In production of hand sanitizer, Chakradharpur Division of SER has taken lead of producing 750 litres whereas Ranchi Division has produced a total quantity of 605 litres. Khargapur and Adra Divisions have produced 580 litres and 158 litres respectively. Kharagpur Workshop itself has also produced 400 litres of hand sanitizer.
South Eastern Railway is trying its level best for running of freight trains carrying essential commodities round the clock to cater the need of the society.The reusable face masks and hand sanitizer are being distributed amongst the loco pilots, guards and frontline staff for their better precaution from COVID-19. Railwaymen are further counselled to wash their hands with soap both at offices and homes. They are also advised to maintain social distancing in workplace. Mass awareness in this regard is being regularly spread amongst the staff like trackmen, loco pilots and other frontline staff.
