SER ORGANISES SEMINAR on “ETHICS IN GOVERNANCE”
AS A PART OF OBSERVANCE OF VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK
Kolkata, 3rd November, 2023:
South Eastern Railway has organized a seminar on “Ethics in Governance” at SER Headquarters, Garden Reach on 03.11.2023. South Eastern Railway is observing Vigilance Awareness Week from 30th October to 5th November, 2023. This is a part of the “Three month campaign” (16th August to 15th November, 2023) initiated by Central Vigilance Commission. The Seminar was addressed by Hon’ble Justice (Retd), Shri Saumitra Pal. In his speech, Shri Pal discussed about his several experiences and emphasized on professional integrity and preventive vigilance to bring transparency and good governance. He has also appreciated the role of railwaymen who have dedicated themselves for welfare of the Nation.
The Vigilance Bulletin “Maryada 2023” was released by Shri Saumitra Pal, Hon’ble Justice (Retd) and Shri Abhay Kumar Gupta, Senior Deputy General Manager & Chief Vigilance Officer, S E Railway during the programme. A video film was also displayed on Public Interest Disclosure and Protection of Informers (PIDPI). Cultural Team of Headquarters presented two Skits to create awareness against Fake job rackets and Purchasing tickets from touts.
Shri Abhay Kumar Gupta, Senior Deputy General Manager & Chief Vigilance Officer, S E Railway welcomed the guests and said that every organization has a set code of ethics for its employees and stakeholders to ensure that all of them maintain honesty and integrity on all aspects of the organisation’s operation. Shri Virendra Kumar, Chief Vigilance Officer (HQ), officers and staff also attended the programme.
South Eastern Railway is observing Vigilance Awareness Week at its headquarters and all four divisions viz. Adra, Kharagpur, Chakradharpur and Ranchi. The theme of the Vigilance Awareness Week 2023 is “Say no to corruption and commit to the Nation”. As per the directives of Railway Board, SER is organizing various outreach programmes to raise awareness about corrupt activities and its prevention like Seminar, online Quiz Competition, Essay competition, Nukkad Natak, Walkathon, Vendors’ Meet etc.
