SER CELEBRATES “HAR GHAR TIRANGA” FROM 13th TO 15th AUGUST

AS A PART OF INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS

SER OBSERVES “PARTITION HORRORS REMEMBRANCE DAY” o­n 14th AUGUST

Kolkata, 14th August, 2023:

SER is organising the event, “Har Ghar Tiranga” as a part of Independence Day Celebrations to encourage the citizens to hoist the National Flag at their residential premises from 13th to 15thAugust, 2023. The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and to celebrate India’s Independence Day with zeal and enthusiasm.

On the eve of Independence, the Station Buildings, Offices, Locomotives, etc. have been illuminated in Tri-coloured lights over the South Eastern Railway jurisdiction. The special lighting arrangement is organised to celebrate the patriotic fervour of the Nation.

Employees of South Eastern Railway are also taking part in the Nationwide “Meri Maati Mera Desh”campaign. The campaign aims to honour the freedom fighters and bravehearts who sacrificed their lives for the country.

SER has also observed “Partition Horrors Remembrance Day” o­n 14th August, 2023 to highlight the tragedy of the partition and the agony of the people who suffered during the partition. In this connection, Photo Exhibitions have been organised at different stations of South Eastern Railway. The Photo Exhibitions were organised at Adra, Bokaro Steel City, Bankura and Purulia stations of Adra Division, Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Chakradharpur, Sini, Chaibasa, Rajgangpur, Dangoaposiand Tatanagar stations of Chakradharpur Division, Hatia, Ranchi, Muri, Ramgarh Cant., Lohardaga, Bano, Pokla and Govindpur Road stations of Ranchi Division, Kharagpur, Balasore, Jaleswar, Mecheda, Midnapur, Panskura and Jhargram stations of Kharagpur Division.

Different programmes have also been organised at the stations o­n this day. Patriotic songs were played during the exhibitions and Selfie Points have been put up at different stations for public and passengers to celebrate the events.
