PRIME MINISTER LAYS FOUNDATION STONE FOR REDEVELOPMENT OF

10 STATIONS OF SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY UNDER AMRIT BHARAT STATION SCHEME

 

Kolkata, 6th August, 2023:

Amrit Bharat Station Scheme has been launched for redevelopment of Railway stations over Indian Railways. Altogether 1309 Railway Stations have been identified under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. This scheme envisages development of stations o­n a continuous basis with a long-term approach. Indian Railways is moving ahead at a rapid pace in the direction of modernization and in realising the Government of India’s vision of a New India. Showcasing the grandeur of Indian Diversity, these redeveloped stations will be equipped with new state-of-the-art passenger amenities as well as up-gradation & replacement of the existing facilities. Facilities planned under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme include smooth access to Railway stations by removal of unwanted structures, improved lighting, better circulating area, upgraded parking space, Divyangjan friendly infrastructure, environment friendly building by use of Green energy, etc. 

 

Today (06.08.2023), Prime Minister, Sri Narendra Modi, has laid the foundation Stone through video conferencing for the redevelopment of 508 Stations under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, which includes 10 Stations under South Eastern Railway Zone. The stations are Ghatsila, Jaleswar and Baripada of Kharagpur Division, Hatia and Piska of Ranchi Division, Bokaro Steel City of Adra Division, Rajgangpur, Rajkharswan, Manoharpur and Barbil of Chakradharpur Division.

Shri C P Radhakrishnan, Hon’ble Governor of Jharkhand, Shri Champai Soren, Hon’ble Minister of Transport, Govt. of Jharkhand, Shri Sanjay Seth, Hon’ble MP, Shri Deepak Prakash, Hon’ble MP and Shri Aditya Prasad, Hon’ble MP were present at Hatia Station. Shri Arjun Munda, Hon’ble Minister of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India was present at Rajkharswan Station. Shri Bishweswar Tudu, Hon’ble Minister of State for Tribal Affairs and Jalshakti, Govt. of Jharkhand was present at Baripada. Shri Aswini Kumar Patra, Hon’ble Minister of Tourism, Excise, Odia Language, Literature & Culture and Shri Pratap Chandra Sarangi, Hon’ble MP were present at Jaleswar Station. Shri Bidyut Baran Mahato, Hon’ble MP was present at Ghatsila Station. Shri Pashupati Nath Singh, Hon’ble MP was present at Bokaro Steel City Station. Shri Jual Oram, Hon’ble MP was present at Rajgangpur Station. These apart, Hon’ble, MLAs, Padma Shri & Padma Bhushan awardees and other dignitaries were also present at the stations. Representatives from print, electronic and social media attended the programmes. Local people were very enthusiastic and gathered at the stations to witness the programmes .

Shri Anil Kumar Mishra, General Manager, South Eastern Railway welcomed the distinguished guests at Hatia.
