RESCUE OPERATION IS GOING o­n AT THE DERAILMENT SITE

SPECIAL TRAINS HAVE LEFT BALSORE AND BHADRAK WITH STRANDED PASSENGERS

 

Kolkata, 3rdJune, 2023: 

Train no. 12841 Shalimar-Chennai Coromandal Express and Train no. 12864 Sir M Visvesvaraya-Howrah Superfast Express got derailed near Bahanaga Bazar Railway station at around 18.55 Hrs o­n 02.06.2023. Accident Relief trains with medical equipments , doctors and paramedics have rushed to the site from Kharagpur and Bhadrak.

As per the information received till now, there are 238 casualties. Around 650 injured passengers have been taken to the Hospitals of Gopalpur, Khantapara, Balasore, Bhadrak and Soro.

Hon’ble Minister for Railways has reached the spot and supervising the rescue operation. General Manager, South Eastern Railway and other principal officers are also at the site.

One Special train has left Bhadrak towards Chennai with stranded passengers. The Special Train has left Bhubaneswar at 8.40 hrs.

12864 Sir M Visvesvaraya-Howrah Superfast Express is coming towards Howrah with 1000 passengers. A special train is also coming from Balasore towards Howrah with around 200 stranded passengers. Water, tea and food items are provided to the passengers at Kharagpur station. Food packets will also be provided at Howrah station o­n arrival of the trains.
