BEST EVER PERFORMANCE OF SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY IN 2022-23

 

Kolkata, 3rd April, 2023:

 

South Eastern Railway has completed the financial year 2022-23 with a record freight loading of 202.62 million tonnes. This is the highest ever freight loading performance of South Eastern Railway. In comparison to the previous year, SER has registered a growth of 3.9% in originating freight loading. South Eastern Railway has also surpassed Railway Board’s freight loading target of 202.14 million tonnes for the financial year 2022-23.

 

Revenue generation from freight loading during 2022-23 has also been highest ever. In 2022-23, SER has earned Rs.18,225.47 crore from originating freight traffic as against Rs.16,350.56 crores earned in 2021-22 registering a growth of 11.46%.

 

Coal loading during the financial year 2022-23 has been 51.86 million tonnes which is 24% more than that of the previous year. There has been substantial increase in loading of raw materials to steel plants (7%), cement (17%), fertilizer (3%) and petroleum products (5%).

 

Apart from freight loading and freight revenue, SER has also recorded best ever performance in different other sectors in the financial year 2022-23 as given below:

 

·Highest ever gross originating revenue of Rs.21,333 crore (provisional) in 2022-23 which is 16% more than the previous financial year.

·Highest ever originating passenger revenue of Rs.2,553.53 crore which is 57% more than the previous financial year.

·Highest ever ticket checking earning of Rs.105.80 crore which is 148% more than the previous financial year.

·Best ever non fare revenue earning of Rs.8.70 crore which is 89% more than the previous financial year.

·Best ever scrap sale earning of Rs.390.30 crore which is 21% more than the previous financial year.

·Best ever track renewal work of 454.8 KM which is 95.3 KM more than the previous financial year.

·Highest ever commissioning of 28 Electronic Interlocking Systems as against the previous best of 25 Electronic Interlocking Systems commissioned in 2020-21.

·All time highest LHB Coach POH of 503 coaches, Wagon POH of 6,726 wagons, Sick Wagon Out-turn of 1,13,343 wagons and Premium Rake Examination of 4,950 rakes.

·Best ever installation of 16 Lifts at different stations in comparison to 2 lifts installed last year.
