SER WINS ALL INDIA RAILWAY FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
Kolkata, 26thDecember, 2022:
South Eastern Railway has emerged Champions in the 78th All India Railway Football Championship 2022-23. The knock-out phase of the tournament was held at Railway Stadium of Khurda Road, Odisha from 18th to 23rdDecember, 2022.
Altogether 8 teams viz. South Eastern Railway, Eastern Railway, Western Railway, Northeast Frontier Railway, Metro Railway, South Central Railway, Chittaranjan Locomotive Works and Rail Coach Factory (Kapurthala) qualified for the knock-out phase.
In the final match of the championship, SER defeated Eastern Railway by 4-2 goals through tie-breaker. During the scheduled time, the final match ended goal less. Ranajit Majumdar, Goalkeeper of SER team was declared Man of the Match in the final.
