SER OBSERVES NATIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION WEEK
Kolkata, 14th December, 2022:
The National Energy Conservation Week-2022 has been observed at South Eastern Railway Headquarters, Garden Reach from 8thDecember to 14th December, 2022. The main objective of observance of Energy Conservation Week is to make the Railway employees aware of the importance of Energy Conservation.
To make this programme effective, banners and posters have been put up at railway premises to create awareness about the necessity of reducing electricity consumption. Seminars and counselling sessions have been arranged at Railway Colonies and service buildings to make the people conversant with various ways and means of energy savings. A rally was also organised at SER Headquarters, Garden Reach today (14.12.2022) on the theme of Energy Conservation.
This approach to energy conservation includes LEDification of all railway service buildings, quarters, street light in railway colony areas, replacement of old conventional type fans by energy efficient fans, replacement of old AC machine by Inverter type Five star rating AC machine etc.
Special focus is being given to save energy in domestic appliances i.e. use of LED Bulb, use of energy efficient refrigerator, geyser, micro oven & induction oven etc.
The total programme has been organised by the Electrical Department under the guidance of Sri Ishaq Khan, Principal Chief Electrical Engineer, South Eastern Railway.
