SMT. DARSHANA JARDOSH, HON’BLE MINISTER OF STATE FOR RAILWAYS HOLDS REVIEW MEETING WITH SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY

AND EASTERN RAILWAY AT KOLKATA

 

Kolkata, 12th November, 2022:

 

Smt. Darshana Jardosh, Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways and Textiles, Govt. of India held a high level meeting to review the performance of South Eastern Railway and Eastern Railway at Belvedere Park, Kolkata today (12.11.2022). Ms. Archana Joshi, General Manager, South Eastern Railway, Sri Atulya Sinha, Additional General Manager, South Eastern Railway, Dr. Jaideep Gupta, Additional General Manager, Eastern Railway and other Principal officers of South Eastern and Eastern Railway were present at the review meeting.

 

Smt. Jardosh, during the meeting, held detailed discussion o­n utilization of fund and demand for additional grant for new projects. She laid emphasis o­n timely completion of o­ngoing Railway projects like new line, doubling, third line, road over bridge, passenger amenity works etc. She also stressed o­n co-ordination among different Ministries as well as co-ordination between the Central and State Governments. Discussions were also held to enhance passenger safety and security.

 

Ms. Archana Joshi, General Manager, South Eastern Railway informed the Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways about the various developmental initiatives taken by South Eastern Railway viz. progress of o­ngoing projects, redevelopment of stations, installation of escalators and other passenger amenity measures, elimination of level crossings, installation of CCTV for passenger security etc.
