CLEANLINESS DRIVE BY SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY - SPECIAL CAMPAIGN 2.0

 

Kolkata, 1st November, 2022:

South Eastern Railway has taken active part in 'Special Campaign 2.0’ – the 2nd phase of Cleanliness Drive with increased targets and scope to further promote cleanliness and good governance.Special Campaign 2.0” was undertaken by the Central Government from 02.10.2022 to 31.10.22.

Along with SER Headquarters Garden Reach, Cleanliness Campaigns were also organised at all four divisions of South Eastern Railway viz Adra, Kharagpur, Chakradharpur and Ranchi. During this campaign, intensive cleaning and sanitization drives were carried out at stations, trains, workshops, yards, colonies, hospitals, offices and other railway establishments. This special cleanliness drive was initiated across all Departments including Mechanical, Commercial, Electrical, Operating, Civil, Signal & Telecom, Medical, Security & Safety of SER in all the Divisions.

As an environment friendly initiative, Ms. Archana Joshi, General Manager/SER inaugurated o­ne Composting Plant and o­ne Water Recycling Plant at Adra o­n 02.10.2022. During the “Special Campaign 2.0”, altogether 700 special campaigns were conducted over all the 363 stations in SERjurisdiction. A total number of 998 physical files were weeded out and 275 e-files were closed after consolidated review during this period.

Mechanised cleaning has been implemented at major stations over SER jurisdiction. “Before” & “After” Photographs of the activities undertaken during the “Special Campaign 2.0” have been regularly uploaded in all Social Media platforms of SER. South Eastern Railway will continue to follow the measures adopted during the Special Campaign 2.0 for providing clean and hygienic travelling experience to the passengers.
