RAILWAY PROTECTION FORCE OF SER LEADS IN SAVING HUMAN LIVES

Kolkata, 28th September, 2022:

Railway Protection Force (RPF) of South Eastern Railway has emerged as the leading Zonal Railway in saving human lives for the second consecutive year. In the year 2022, till now altogether 20 human lives have been saved by RPF of South Eastern Railway in its jurisdiction, which is highest among all the zonal railways. Altogether 84 human lives have been saved by RPF personnel throughout the Indian Railways in the year 2022 till now. Alertness of RPF personnel helped in averting probable fatal accidents during boarding/detraining of train by passengers at different railway stations thus resulting in saving of precious human lives. In the year 2021 also South Eastern Railway emerged as the leading Zonal Railway for saving human lives.

1834 CCTV Cameras have been installed at 53 stations of SER to ensure security of travelling passengers. Moreover, special initiatives by RPF of SER like “My Saheli” to ensure security of women passengers and “Nanhe Farishte” to prevent child trafficking in railway premises have proved as positive step to combat the crime against women and children.
