POINTSMAN AWARDED BY GENERAL MANAGER
FOR HIS EXEMPLARY ACT
Kolkata, 5th July, 2022:
Ms. Archana Joshi, General Manager, South Eastern Railway felicitated Sri H. Satish Kumar, Pointsman of Kharagpur Division for his exemplary selfless act of saving life of an old man. on early morning of 23.6.2022, he was on duty at Balichak Station. Suddenly he noticed an old man was lying on the railway track. At that time, a goods train was approaching through the same track. Without wasting a second, he ran towards the old man and jumped on the track risking his own life. Sri Kumar picked the old man up on his lap just in time and saved his precious life.
Sri Satish Kumar’s alertness and dedication towards duty was appreciated by all. He has been felicitated with cash award and certificate by the General Manager in this regard at SER Headquarters today (05.7.2022). Sri Pradeep M Sikdar, Principal Chief Safety Officer and other Senior Officers of SER were present at the felicitation ceremony.
