GENERAL MANAGER INAUGURATES DIGITAL LIFE
CERTIFICATE FACILITY FOR PENSIONERS
Kolkata, 2nd November, 2021:
Ms. Archana Joshi, General Manager, South Eastern Railway inaugurated “Jeevan Pramaan”, a biometric enabled digital service to provide life certificate to pensioners and family pensioners at SER Headquarters, Garden Reach today (2nd November, 2021). She also inaugurated a “Pensioners’ Seva Kendra” at Headquarters. Sri Atulya Sinha, Additional General Manager and Smt. Zarina Firdausi, Principal Chief Personnel Officer and other senior officers and staff were present on the occasion.
Earlier, for obtaining a life certificate, a pensioner needed to present himself/herself before the pension disbursing agencies or had the life certificate issued by the authority where they served and had it delivered to the pension disbursing agencies. This very requirement of personally being present in front of the pension disbursing agencies or getting a life certificate often became a major hurdle in the process of seamless transfer of pension amount to the pensioners. These caused a lot of hardship and inconvenience to the aged and infirm pensioners.
This initiative of Personnel Department of South Eastern Railway will greatly minimise such hardship for the pensioners and family pensioners. This is the first time that this railway is extending such facility to the pensioners.
