SER’S RAILWAY PROTECTION FORCE CELEBRATES 37THRAISING DAY

 

Kolkata, 28th September, 2021

 

Railway Protection Force of South Eastern Railway celebrated the 37th Raising Day at this Railway’s Headquarters, Garden Reach today (28.9.21). The Raising Day is celebrated to commemorate the conferring of the Armed Force status o­n Railway Protection Force at par with the other Paramilitary Forces of the Union of India o­n 20th September, 1985.

 

Ms. Archana Joshi, General Manager, South Eastern Railway was the Chief Guest o­n the occasion and took the general salute. Addressing o­n the occasion, General Manager mentioned about the contribution of RPF in SER’s success story.She specially mentioned the success of My Saheli & Nanhe Fariste Team who put their heart & soul in protection of female passengers and children in need of care & protection in railway premises respectively. General Manager added, “870 CCTVs under Nirbhaya Fund have been installed at 30 stations in SER zone to ensure security of lady passengers.”

 

Sri D B Kasar, IG-cum-Principal Chief Security Commissioner, South Eastern Railway encouraged the RPF Personnel for performing their best services to ensure safe and secured rail travel of the passengers.

 

On the occasion, Martial Art Drills by Lady RPF Contingent of Ranchi Division and demonstration by lady commandos was also organized. General Manager also inspected the arms and ammunitions of RPF and released balloons to commemorate the celebration of RPF Raising Day.

 

During the function, 10 RPF personnel were honoured with Commendation Certificates for their excellent work during the year 2021.

 

A week long programme has also been organized in all the divisions viz. Kharagpur, Adra, Chakradharpur and Ranchi over South Eastern Railway to commemorate the RPF Raising Day by conducting Blood Donation Camps, Tree plantation and public awareness programmes. In this regard, all Divisional Railway Managers of South Eastern Railway took the salute in their respective divisions and highlighted the achievements of RPF.
