OBSERVANCE OF SWACHHTA PAKHWADA
BY SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY
Kolkata, 27th September, 2021.
South Eastern Railway has been observing Swachhta Pakhwada 2021 since 16.09.2021 to promote cleanliness at Railway premises. The cleanliness drive will continue till 02.10.2021.
Different sorts of activities like Swachhta awareness, sanitisation of railway station premises including work places and surroundings, tree plantation,maintaining hygiene, checking of water purity at stations, are being practised throughout SER including its four divisions viz, Kharagpur, Ranchi, Adra and Chakradharpur. South Eastern Railway’s officers and staff have also given their ‘Shramdaan’ at different Workshops, Carsheds, Loco Sheds and Depots to implement the special cleanliness drive.
A Webinar on Swachhata at South Eastern Railway Headquarters has been conducted on 24th September, 2021 on the subject of “Plastic Waste Management and Waste to Energy Projects” and “Water Stress Management in Climate Change Scenario”. Sri Debashis Ray, retired Chief Mechanical Engineer/SER was the Guest Speaker at the webinar. Sri Prakash Kumar Mondal, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer/SER and other senior officers from Headquarters and Divisions also participated in the webinar.
All COVID protocol and safety measures specifically hygiene and sanitization has been adopted during the observance of the Swachhta Pakhwada 2021 to make Railway premises cleaner and safer as well.
