COMMENDABLE PERFORMANCE OF RAILWAY PROTECTION FORCE OF SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY
Kolkata, 10thSeptember 2021:
South Eastern Railway RPF (Railway Protection Force) personnel are playing a significant role in providing security of rail travellers as well as in guarding the railway property and its vital installations.
RPF personnel of this railway, in the month of August, 2021 have conducted regular drives against miscreants involved in theft of passenger belongings.Preventive measures have also been taken to control the theft of railway materials and booked consignments.
In the month of August, a total number of 34 miscreants were arrested under RP (UP) Act and Railway property worth Rs. 1,55,209/- was recovered.Moreover, 1449 offenders were booked under different sections of the Railways Act and Rs.4,51,590/- was realised as fine. Regular drives were also conducted by RPF and Commercial Department and 5285 ticketless travellers were detected and Rs 25,01,5 10/- was realised as fine.
In addition to the above, in August 2021, RPF personnel rescued 45minor boys and 46 minor girls and the rescued minors were handed over to their relatives with proper verification and acknowledgement.
RPF personnel of S E Railway have taken active part to conduct 237 cleanliness drives and also removed 140 encroachments at various places in SER jurisdiction.
“My Saheli” team of South Eastern Railway has taken a lead role in all the Divisions to assist lady passengers during their journey which has been appreciated in every level. This special team has been formed initially by SER in view of the safety and security of lady passengers and their belongings specially when travelling alone.Later this initiative has been adopted by other zonal railways.
This endeavour of the RPF team had a positive impact over the travelling passengers.
