GENERAL MANAGER, SER HOLDS HIGH LEVEL MEETING

WITH ALL PRINCIPAL OFFICERS AND DRMs OF FOUR DIVISIONS

 

Kolkata, 2ndAugust, 2021:

 

Ms. Archana Joshi, new General Manager of South Eastern Railway held a high level meeting with all Principal Head of the Departments of South Eastern Railway at SER Headquarters, Garden Reach today (02-8-2021). Divisional Railway Managers of Adra, Chakradharpur, Kharagpur and Ranchi also attended the meeting through Video Conferencing.

 

During this introductory meeting, General Manager said, “All steps should be taken to ensure safety of the travelling public and achieve the freight loading target fixed by Railway Board”. She stressed o­n optimal utilisation of resources and close monitoring of critical infrastructure projects viz. new line, doubling, electrification etc. General Manager also emphasised o­n running of passenger trains at maximum permissible speed. She directed the senior officers to make all out efforts for increasing revenue generation. In this connection, General Manager laid stress o­n generation of Non Fare Revenue.

 

General Manager laid special emphasis o­n team work and said that all senior and junior officials should work as a team with mutual respect for each other. She added, “Passenger and staff grievances should be taken care of o­n priority basis and to be settled in a time bound manner”. She advised all senior officers to undertake regular inspections especially from safety point of view.

 

General Manager, during the meeting, also advised to monitor cleanliness of station premises, offices, railway installations etc. o­n a daily basis. In order to combat the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, she urged to accelerate the vaccination of railway employees, sanitisation of trains, maintaining physical distancing at railway premises etc.
