SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY HAS DESPATCHED MORE THAN 1000 TANKERS/CONTAINERS WITH LIQUID MEDICAL OXYGEN

 

Kolkata, 15th June, 2021:

South Eastern Railway till now has sent 1010 Tankers/Containers loaded in 225 Oxygen Express Trains carrying 16,444 Tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) to different parts of the country since 23rd April, 2021 for treatment of Covid affected patients.

 

The Oxygen Express Trains originating from Tatanagar, Rourkela and Bokaro Steel City in SER jurisdiction have delivered LMO to 12 States and Union Territories viz. Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Assam and Delhi.

 

 A number of initiatives have been taken by SER for swift loading and hassle free transportation of life saving LMO. The steps taken to ensure seamless movement of Oxygen Express trains which include, Identification of suitable rail wagon, construction of ramps to load tankers o­n wagons, mapping of railway routes, following of stringent safety protocols and Intensive o­nline Real time Monitoring and Coordination. The complete process right from loading to delivery is being monitored at the apex level to ensure in time movement of these trains.
