SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY CROSSES MILESTONE OF DESPATCHING MORE THAN 200 OXYGEN EXPRESS CONTAINING ABOVE 15000 MT LMO

 

 

Kolkata, 9th June, 2021

 

South Eastern Railway has already despatched 207 Oxygen Express trains and has so far delivered 15,046 MT of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) to different States and Union Territories for treatment of Covid affected patients o­n top priority.

 

Till noon of 08.06.2021, South Eastern Railway from its three LMO loading points viz. Tatanagar, Rourkela and Bokaro has despatched 6607 MT, 6349 MT and 2090 MT of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) respectively to bring relief to the Covid affected patients in different parts of the country. Today morning, o­ne more Oxygen Express with 80 T of LMO from Tatanagar to Nellore (Andhra Pradesh) has been dispatched.

 

South Eastern Railway is moving the Oxygen Express Trains since 23rd April, 2021. These trains have moved towards Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Kelara, Assam and Delhi.

 

In view of swift loading and hassle free movement of the oxygen tankers and containers, a number of initiatives has been taken by SER like Identifying suitable rail wagon, construction of ramps to load tankers o­n wagons, swift trials, mapping of railway routes, stringent safety protocols due to hazardous nature and Intensive o­nline Real time Monitoring and Coordination. The whole process from loading points to destinations is being monitored at the apex level with top priority.
