SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY DESPATCHED MORE THAN 4460 MT OF LIQUID MEDICAL OXYGEN (LMO) ONLY FROM ROURKELA STATION TOWARDS DIFFERENT STATES OF THIS COUNTRY

 

Kolkata, 1st June, 2021.

 

South Eastern Railway o­nly from Rourkela station already moved more than 4460 MT of Liquid Medical Oxygen towards different states of this viz. Haryana,Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana , Kerala and Karnataka,Out of 65 trains originated for the above mentioned states, 25 trains were dispatched for Tamilnadu till 1st June (today)evening.

 

Starting from 23rd April, South Eastern Railway has so far run 174 Oxygen Express Trains despatching total 12438 tonnes of LMO to 12 States and Union Territories. These Oxygen Express trains have moved towards Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Tamilnadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Kelara, Uttarakhand and Delhi.

 

These trains have originated from Bokaro Steel City, Rourkela and Tatanagar in SER’s jurisdiction. Today morning, o­ne Oxygen Express train originated from Rourkela towards Tamilnadu carrying 84 tonnes of LMO in four 20 ft containers.

 

Employees of SER are working round the clock to ensure that the transportationof LMO is possible in minimum time from Bokaro, Rourkela and Tatanagar under SER's jurisdiction for the cities having requirement of Oxygen for the Covid patient. Monitoring is being done at apex level considering the importance in this crisis situation.
