SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY ALREADY LOADED AND DESPATCHED

MORE THAN 11000 MT OF LIQUID MEDICAL OXYGEN (LMO)

TO DIFFERENT PARTSOF THE COUNTRY

 

Kolkata, 27thMay, 2021

 

South Eastern Railway today upto noon loaded and despatched more than 11000 metric tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen(LMO) sent to different locations of the country as per requirement of the State Governments. South Eastern Railway has been continuously moving Oxygen Express since 23rd April, 2021 to bring relief to the COVID affected patients.

 

South Eastern Railway has so far run 145 Oxygen Express Trains despatched 11070 metric tonnes of LMO to 12 States and Union Territories. There are three main LMO loading points under SER’s jurisdiction viz, Tatanagar, Rourkela and Bokaro and LMO of 4823.42 tonnes, 4218.57 tonnes and 2028.86 tonnes has so far been despatched respectively. These Oxygen Express trains have moved towards Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Assam and Delhi.

 

It is worthy to mention that despite cyclone “Yaas”, South Eastern Railway continues to run Oxygen Express trains in the same manner, which has been made possible because of untiring efforts of its committed employees who are trained to work round the clock even in adverse situation to ensure fastest transportation of Oxygen Express Trains.
