SER STARTS SENDING OXYGEN EXPRESS TRAINS TOWARDS ANDHRA PRADESH ALONG WITH OTHER DESTINATIONS

SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY ALREADY DESPATCHED MORE THAN 5000 MT OF OXYGEN FOR 10 STATES AND UNION TERRITORIES

 

 

Kolkata, 18th May, 2021

 

To meet the requirements of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) for Covid affected patients in different states, SER is playing a pivotal role by moving Oxygen Express Trains since  23rd April, 2021.

 

Today, two Oxygen Express Trains for Andhra Pradesh originated from Rourkela of SER's jurisdiction. o­ne train towards Guntur is carrying 35.62 tonnes of LMO in 2 containers whereas the other train towards Nellore is carrying 74.66 tonnes of LMO in 4 containers. Another train left Rourkela today o­n its way to Tiruvallur (Tamil Nadu) with 29.22 tonnes of LMO in 3 tankers.

 

With relentless efforts of its employees, SER has so far run 82 Oxygen Express Trains despatching total 5170 tonnes of Oxygen to Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh and Delhi. SER is determined to continue this service amid the surge in Covid-19 cases.
