SER RUNS THE FIRST OXYGEN EXPRESS TRAIN TOWARDS TAMIL NADU FROM ROURKELA

 

 

Kolkata, 14th May, 2021

 

South Eastern Railway is committed to extend  the service of Oxygen Express Trains

towards more destinations in minimum possible time.

 

The first train towards Tiruvallur near Chennai (Tamil Nadu) has originated from Rourkela

Of SER's jurisdiction late night yesterday. The train carried 31.40 tonnes of Liquid Medical

Oxygen (LMO) in 2 tankers. o­ne more train has left Tatanagar for Dehradun (Uttarakhand) last

night carrying 120 tonnes of life-saving LMO. Today afternoon, another two trains were sent to

Bengaluru (Karnataka) and Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh) from Tatanagar with 120 tonnes and 40

tonnes of LMO respectively.

 

Since 23rd April, the dedicated team of South Eastern Railway has initiated total 57 Oxygen

Express trains with 3477 tonnes of LMO  to expedite the treatment of Covid affected patients.

Carrying the Liquid Medical Oxygen,  these trains have moved towards Uttar Pradesh, Madhya

Pradesh, Haryana, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Delhi.

 

Employees are working round the clock in this mission and have ensured the transportation

of LMO in minimum possible time from Bokaro, Rourkela and Tatanagar under SER's jurisdiction.
