FIRST OXYGEN EXPRESS TRAIN MOVED
FROM TATANAGAR FOR UTTARAKHAND

Kolkata, 11th May, 2021.
South Eastern Railway for the first time sent Oxygen Express Train from Tatanagar towards Dehradun (Uttarakhand) with 120 tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen in 6 Containers. The train left Tatanagar early morning today (11.05.2021). The transportation of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) has become a crucial issue and South Eastern Railway took the movement of Oxygen Express as a challenge from 23rd of the last month for different destinations in this tough situation.
So far, South Eastern Railway has run 43 Oxygen Express Trains with 2420 tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) in 114 tankers and 78 Containers, across the country to combat the deadly second wave of corona virus. From SER’s jurisdiction, 22 trains have been sent towards Uttar Pradesh, 10 trains towards Madhya Pradesh, 6 trains towards Haryana, 3 towards Delhi, towards Karnataka and Uttarkhand one each. These trains have originated from Bokaro, Rourkela and Tatanagar.
With a team of dedicated staff and officers, SER is ensuring timely transportation of Oxygen for the Covid affected patients at the destinations. The movement of these trains are given top most priority and green corridor is being planned before hand.
