SER EMPHASISES on FAST TRANSPORTATION OF OXYGEN EXPRESS
BY ARRANGING REFILLING AT TATANAGAR RAILWAY SIDING

During the second wave of the pandemic, South Eastern Railway is continuously taking initiative for transportation of Liquid Medical Oxygen towards different parts of the country.
Today at Tatanagar, Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) has been loaded in 10 numbers of 10 ft. ISO Oxygen containers in BOST wagons (2 Containers in each wagon) at Rly Siding without unloading these containers from the wagons. Such refilling of the containers at the railway siding at Tatanagar will result in saving of precious time and early despatch of the rake towards Lucknow. This rake will carry approx 79 Tonnes of LMO for Lucknow. In addition, one more rake has been moved from Rourkela with 4 loaded tankers containing 49.45 Tonnes of Oxygen for Faridabad.
So far 24 Oxygen Express Trains have been run from Bokaro Steel City, Rourkela and Tatanagar in S E Raiway jurisdiction carrying approx. 1120tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen to the states of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana. Out of the total 24 Oxygen Express Trains, 12 Oxygen Express trains have run from Bokaro to Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh and 6 trains from Bokaro to Bhopal/Sagar/Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh. Apart from these,3 trains have been run from Rourkela towards Faridabad in Haryana and3trains from Tatanagar to Lucknow.
The employees of South Eastern Railway are working on war footing to facilitate fast transportation of the life saving gas for the Covid affected patients at the destinations.
