SER HAS ALREADY RUN 21 OXYGEN EXPRESS TRAINS

FROM ITS JURISDICTION CARRYING 940 TONNES OF OXYGEN

 

Kolkata, 5th May, 2021:

 

During the second wave of pandemic and surge in Covid positive cases, South Eastern Railway is continuously running Oxygen Express Trains from its jurisdiction to transport Liquid Medical Oxygen to meet the requirements of different states. South Eastern Railway has already run 21 Oxygen Express Trains from Bokaro Steel City, Tatanagar and Rourkela in its jurisdiction carrying total 940 tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen to the states of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana.

 

Out of the total 21 Oxygen Express Trains, 12 Oxygen Express trains have run from Bokaro to Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh and 5 trains from Bokaro to Bhopal/Sagar/Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh. Apart from these, 2 trains have been run from Rourkela towards Faridabad in Haryana and 2 trains from Tatanagar to Lucknow.

 

South Eastern Railway employees are working relentlessly to facilitate movement of the Oxygen Express Trains and the different aspects of train movement like maximum speed, route mapping etc. are being planned and monitored at the apex level. This has ensured timely transportation of the life saving gas for the Covid affected patients at different places of the country.
