OXYGEN EXPRESS TRAIN on THE WAY TO HARYANA FROM ROURKELA
Kolkata, 30th April, 2021:
South Eastern Railway is continuously taking initiative for running of more Oxygen Express Trains from its jurisdiction to transport Liquid Medical Oxygen to different states as per their requirement. The first rake of Oxygen Express from Rourkela and ninth from South Eastern Railway jurisdiction, left Rourkela station today (30.04.21) afternoon towards Faridabad in Haryana. The train from Rourkela carried 47.11 tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen loaded in 3 tankers.
The eighth Oxygen Express Train of South Eastern Railway left Bokaro Steel City for Jabalpur and Sagar yesterday (29.4.21) evening carrying 47.37 tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen in 4 tankers. This is the second Oxygen Express towards the state of Madhya Pradesh from Bokaro.
Running of Oxygen Express Train by South Eastern Railway started from 23rd April and total 459.38 tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen has been despatched by South Eastern Railway through the nine trains run so far. The trains have been run from Bokaro Steel City and Rourkela towards Lucknow, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Sagar and Faridabad.
South Eastern Railway is working on mission mode for transportation of the life saving gas and the concerned employees are engaged round the clock to facilitate movement of the Oxygen Express Trains. The different aspects of Oxygen Train movement like maximum speed, route mapping etc. are being planned and monitored at the apex level. This has ensured timely transportation of Oxygen for the Covid affected patients.
