SER RUNS OXYGEN EXPRESS TRAIN FROM
BOKARO STEEL CITY TOWARDS MADHYA PRADESH
Kolkata, 27th April, 2021:
The fourth Oxygen Express Train of South Eastern Railway carrying Liquid Medical Oxygen in 6 tankers has left Bokaro Steel City early morning today (27.04.2021) on its way to Bhopal and Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh. The tankers were filled up with Liquid Medical Oxygen
at Bokaro Steel Plant. To facilitate faster movement of this Oxygen Express Train, a Green Corridor has been arranged in Ranchi-Rourkela-Jhasuguda route over S E Railway system.
Earlier three Oxygen Express trains were run by South Eastern Railway from Bokaro Steel City to Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh on 23rd, 25thand 26th April, 2021. With the running of the fourth Oxygen Express train by S E Railway, total 234 tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen has been transported from Bokaro Steel City to Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh till now.
Another rake with empty tankers has arrived today at Bokaro Steel City from Lucknow for loading of Liquid Medical Oxygen.
South Eastern Railway is working on mission mode for transportation of the life saving gas and the employees at Bokaro Steel City station and Diesel Loco Shed are engaged round the clock to facilitate movement of the Oxygen Express Trains. The transportation of Liquid Medical Oxygen is being done through Roll on Roll Off (RO RO) service with Road Tankers placed on Flat Wagons of Railways.
The different aspects of Oxygen Train movement like maximum speed, route mapping etc. are being planned and monitored at the apex level. This has ensured timely transportation of Oxygen for the Covid affected patients.
