SER MAKING ALL OUT EFFORTS TO COMBAT COVID-19

Kolkata, 19thApril, 2021:

South Eastern Railway is taking all possible measures to ensure that rail users are strictly following Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) at its stations and other premises. Appeals are being made to passengers through PA system at station premises to wear mask, wash/sanitise hands at regular intervals and maintain social distancing.

Special emphasis is laid to encourage the passengers about use of Face Mask at stations and in trains. Inspite of communicating the directive of imposing fine for not wearing mask, some people are still showing indifferent attitude. For this reason, 21 persons have been booked and an amount of Rs. 7,800/- has been realised in this regard.

As a part of Passenger Awareness Campaign, Banners and posters on COVID-19 health protocols are being displayed at major stations. COVID-19 awareness posts and videos are also being regularly uploaded in SER’s social media pages. Passengers are also being encouraged to get vaccinated.

To provide clean and hygienic environment to the passengers, regular sanitization of station premises and train coaches is being undertaken by South Eastern Railway. Additional RPF personnel have also been deployed to prevent overcrowding inside the station premises. Apart from adhering to Covid health protocols, passengers are also being requested to reach stations well in advance to avoid last minute rush at station premises. It is also requested to passengers to book their tickets through online mode to avoid queue and crowd at the booking counters.
