SER CELEBRATES 65th RAILWAY WEEK

Kolkata, 5th February, 2021:

South Eastern Railway celebrated the 65th Railway Week, 2020 at its Headquarters, Garden Reach, Kolkata today (05-02-2021) with maintaining all the health protocols in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic.

Sri Sanjay Kumar Mohanty, General Manager, South Eastern Railway graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Shri Anupam Sharma, Addl. General Manager, SER along with all Principal Head of the Departments attended the function. Divisional Railway Managers of Kharagpur, Adra, Chakradharpur & Ranchi were also present o­n the occasion.

As many as 145 selected railway staff & officers including Group Awardees were felicitated virtually in recognition of their outstanding services and devotion to duty during the year 2019-20. The awards and merit certificates were distributed virtually. The Overall Efficiency Shield was awarded jointly to Adra and Kharagpur Divisions for the best all round performance. Efficiency Shields in 27 other categories were awarded to different divisions, workshops and stations. Ranchi station has been adjudged as the Best Kept Station.

Sri Sanjay Kumar Mohanty, General Manager while addressing the gathering mentioned about S E Railway’s contribution towards the growth of Indian Railways and complimented the railway employees for their sincere efforts and commendable performance. South Eastern Railway has also done a good job in the field of safety despite ever mounting pressure of improving freight loading General Manager said. He stressed to make all out efforts to get the satisfaction of passengers and freight customers. He also appreciated the cooperation extended by the different associations and trade unions.
