SER ACHIEVES COMMENDABLE PERFORMANCE
IN MASSIVE TICKET CHECKING DRIVES
Kolkata, 04th December, 2013:
The Commercial Department of South Eastern Railway has achieved commendable performance in massive ticket checking drives conduted in its four divisions i.e. Khargpur, Adra, Ranchi and Chakrddharpur during the last seven months from April to October, 2013. During the massive ticket checking drives, a total of 16.2% more without ticket and irregular ticket passengers were detected and 22.5% more earning has been realized as fine in comparison with the corresponding period of last year. Like-wise, 4% more cases and 11.5% in earnings have been realized as fine towards un-booked luggage cases in comparison with the same period of last year. In the month of August 2013, 63.4% more irregular and without ticket passengers were detected and 72.5% more fines were collected, 4% more luggage cases were detected and 12.9% more fines were collected in comparison to the last year.
During the period of 56 days, Surprise Fortress Checks were also conducted and 2891 number of irregular and without ticket passenger cases were detected and a sum of Rs.9,23,748/- was earned as fine.
In recognition to outstanding performance in ticket checking, Shri J. N. Jha, Chief Commercial Manager, South Eastern Railway felicitated a total of 50 ticket checking staff of all the four divisions with cash awards and merit certificates in a simple function held at Commercial Office in Kolkata on 02/12/2013.
