COMMENDABLE PERFORMANCE OF RAILWAY PROTECTION FORCE OF SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY

 

Kolkata, 9th October, 2020:

 

South Eastern Railway RPF (Railway Protection Force) personnel are playing a significant role in providing security of rail travellers as well as in guarding the railway property and its vital installations.

 

During nationwide COVID-19 crisis, RPF personnel of this railway, in the month of September, 2020 has conducted regular drives against miscreants involved in theft of passenger belongings.Preventive measures have also been taken to control the theft of railway materials and booked consignments.

 

During the month of September 2020, a total number of 28 miscreants were arrested under RP(UP) Act and Railway property worth Rs. 85,861/- was recovered.Moreover, 129 offenders were booked under different sections ofthe Railways Act and Rs.47,030/- was realised as fine. Regular drives were also conducted by RPF and Commercial Department and 116 ticketless travellers were detected and Rs 65,050/- was realised as fine.

 

01 left behind luggage of passengers was recovered by the RPF during the month and 02 cases of smoking in train were detected by RPF under Tobacco Act and a fine amounting to Rs.400/- was realised.

 

RPF personnel of S E Railway have taken active part to conduct 257 cleanliness drives and also removed 25 encroachments at various places in SER jurisdiction.

 

During the month of September 2020, RPF personnel rescued 16 minor boys and 12 minor girls and rescued minors were handed over to their relatives with proper verification and acknowledgement.
