SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY JOINS JAN ANDOLAN LAUNCHED BY HON’BLE PRIME MINISTER FOR COVID-19 APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOUR

 

Kolkata, 8th October, 2020:

 

A Mass Campaign (Jan Andolan) was launched all over South Eastern Railway to ensure that the Railway Employees and travelling passengers adhere to Covid-19 norms during the forthcoming festive season. This Jan Andolan for Covid-19 Appropriate Behaviour has been launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister through tweet today.

 

South Eastern Railway employees took pledge to fight against Covid-19 by followingall the hygiene protocols like wearing of mask, frequent washing of hands with soap, maintaining safe distance of 6 feet etc. Sri Sanjay Kumar Mohanty, General Manager, South Eastern Railway, Sri Anupam Sharma, Additional General Manager, Principal Head of different Departments and large number of SER employees participated in the virtual oath taking ceremony.

The main objective of organising the campaign is to create consciousness among railway people and travelling public to combat Covid-19 and stay protected from Corona Virus. Posters and Banners have been displayed all over South Eastern Railway’s jurisdiction to create awareness about Covid-19 appropriate behaviour. A concerted action plan like spreading of messages to reach every Railway Men and Passengers, putting off of banners and posters at prominent railway areas, frequent announcement about maintaining physical distancing, wearing face mask in public places, constant washing of hands and using of sanitiser etc., coordination of media campaign, deployment of Scouts & Guides to spread the core messages, involvement of local important personage, NGOs and other charitable organisation are to implemented in four divisions of South Eastern Railway.
