SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY OBSERVES INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA
Kolkata, 21st June, 2020:
South Eastern Railway observed the International Day of Yoga, this morning (21.06.2020) with great enthusiasm. All staff and officers of South Eastern Railway celebrated the Day by practising Yoga from their homes with family members to avoid mass gathering. The International Day of Yogawas also observed at Stations and railway premises at Divisions over South Eastern Railway by maintaining social distancing and health protocols in the wake of Covid-19.
Yoga is good for community, immunity and unity. In the midst of Corona Crisis, Yoga has assumed even greater importance as it helps strengthen the respiratory system. Railway men need to work in various stressful situations and Yoga can help them to be more relaxed and make them more responsible, energetic & enthusiastic. Yoga practice provides a sense of relaxation and a fresh energy to devote to work more. Yoga and meditation can uplift human spirit and bring about balanced state of mind and health.
South Eastern Railway has many physical exercise centres and Yoga has been taken as a part of training to cover the majority of its employees.
