CANCELLATION OF TRAIN SERVICES EXTENDED TILL 24.00 HRS OF 31.03.2020 IN THE WAKE OF COVID 19
Kolkata, 22nd March, 2020:
In continuation of the measures taken in the wake of COVID 19, it has been decided that the cancellation of all passenger carrying trains on Indian Railways will be extended till 24.00 hrs of 31.03.2020.
All originating long distance Mail/Express and Intercity trains (including premium trains) and all originating Passenger trains will remain cancelled till 24.00 hrs of 31.03.2020.
As announced earlier, Suburban train services of South Eastern Railway will be continued at bare minimum level till 24.00 hrs of 22.03.2020. Thereafter, all suburban trains will remain totally cancelled from 24.00 hrs of 22.03.2020 to 24.00 hrs of 31.03.2020.
Trains which had commenced their journey prior to 04.00 hrs of 22.03.2020 will run upto their destinations.
However, to ensure the supply of essential commodities to various parts of the country, movement of goods trains will continue.
To make it more convenient for passengers, full refund for all cancelled trains may be taken till 21.06. 2020. Adequate arrangements will be made to facilitate hassle free refund to passengers affected by train cancellation.
