SER ORGANISES ZRUCC MEETING

Kolkata, 22nd October, 2019:

The 101st Meeting of Zonal Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) was held under the Chairmanship of Shri Sanjay Kumar Mohanty, General Manager, South Eastern Railway at Riviera Hall near Howrah Station this morning (22/10/2019).

The ZRUCC Meeting was attended by Sri Nirmal Chandra Mondal, Hon’ble MLA and 21 other Hon’ble Members representing various fields and diverse interests including Chamber of Commerce & Industries, Passenger Associations, Trade Associations etc. from three states viz. West Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand which fall under the jurisdiction of S E Railway. Representatives from State Governments were also present at the meeting.

Sri Sanjay Kumar Mohanty, General Manager, S.E.Railway apprised the Hon’ble Members of the recent achievements and developmental activities of SER. He mentioned about the initiatives in passenger amenities, progress of construction work, improvement of safety measures etc.

The Hon’ble Members while appreciating the steps adopted by S.E.Railway, offered their valuable suggestions for further improvement of train services, passenger amenities and cleanliness. Suggestions and demands of the members included introduction of new trains, extension of services, additional stoppages of trains, increase in frequency of trains and provision of different facilities for the passengers.

General Manager, Shri Mohanty in his address said that adequate importance would be given o­n suggestions and demands made by the Members. General Manager also spoke about the need of co-operation of the Hon’ble Members for better running of train services and overall cleanliness.
