South Eastern Railway introduces e-Office
A big step towards Paperless Office
Kolkata, 2nd September 2019:
South Eastern Railway Headquarters has taken a giant leap in complete digitization of its offices by embracing the e-Office system.e-Office culture is expected to promote transparency, work-efficiency and accountability of all Railwaymen.
The e-Office is a massive ‘go-green’ initiative and will usher in a new era of office work culture.Apart from saving the costs on account of material, this will also help in avoiding cumbersome process of handling files and delays.
RailTel, being the nodal agency for implementation of e-Office, has presented the e-Office with four packages- File Management System (e-File), Knowledge Management System (KMS), Collaboration & Messaging Services (CAMS), and Personnel Information Management System (PIMS).
Around 1260 users (officers and staff) have been trained in the e-Office system in South Eastern Railway Headquarters, Garden Reach.
As envisioned by the Hon’ble Minister for Railways and as part of the Government of India’s 100 days’ Action Programme, the e-Office module was inaugurated by Shri Anupam Sharma, Additional General Manager, South Eastern Railway on 2/09/2019.The first e-File was approved by Shri Anupam Sharma, Additional General Manager & Shri Sunil Kr. Sharma Dy. General Manager, Zonal In-charge/e-Office/South Eastern Railway.
DRM office Ranchi already started working on e-office platform from 20th August,2019. Other divisions will be added in the next phase. All Principle Head of the Departments and Senior Officers were present during this occasion.
