INAUGURATION OF CCTV BASED VIDEO SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM
Kolkata, 21st June, 2019:
With a view to ensure enhanced security for the passengers at the stations and circulating areas, CCTV based Video Surveillance System (Phase-2) has been inaugurated at five stations of South Eastern Railway today (21.06.2019). Shri Manas Mani Mishra, Chief Controller and Shri Paresh Bag, Office Assistant S E Railway inaugurated the Surveillance System in presence of Sri P S Mishra, General Manager, S E Railway from SER headquarters, Garden Reach.
The Stations where Phase-2 of the CCTV Surveillance System has been inaugurated today are Kharagpur, Tatanagar, Ranchi, Purulia and Bokaro Steel City. Around 200 additional CCTV Cameras have been installed at these five stations. Under this new CCTV Surveillance System, monitoring of the Cameras will be possible not only from the respective stations but also from SER Headquarters, Garden Reach by Principal Head of Departments, Central Security Control and Emergency Control through net connectivity as and when required. The new system will not only enhance security but will also help to monitor different passenger amenities at the stations including cleanliness.
Sri Anupam Sharma, Addl. General Manager, Sri S K Biswas, Principal Chief Signal & Telecommunication Engineer, S E Railway and other senior Officers were also present at the inaugural ceremony.
