COMMITTEE STARTS ENQUIRY ABOUT
THE TRAGIC INCIDENT AT SANTRAGACHI
Kolkata, 24th October, 2018:
A Committee comprising of Head of the Departments of S.E.Railway has been formed to enquire into the unfortunate incident at Santragachi Station last evening (23.10.18) due to overcrowding and heavy rush, resulting in death of 2 (two) persons and injury of 12 (twelve) others.
The 4 member Enquiry Committee is headed by Sri J.N.Laldas, Principal Chief Engineer, S.E Railway. The other members of the Committee are Sri P.K.Sahu, Principal Chief Commercial Manager, Sri S.C.Parhi, Principal Chief Security Commissioner-cum-IG and Sri G.K.Dwivedy, Chief Safety Officer, S.E.Railway.
The Enquiry Committee visited the site today afternoon to study the infrastructural facilities at the location. The Members of the Committee also interacted with the local people, railway officials and passengers admitted in Hospital.
