HON’BLE PRIME MINISTER VIRTUALLY INAUGURATES 103 AMRIT STATIONS INCLUDING JOYCHANDI PAHAR STATION OF SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY

Kolkata, 22nd May, 2025

Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated 103 railway stations across the country under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme along with various important railway infrastructure projects through video conferencing today (22.05.2025). Joychandi Pahar station of South Eastern Railway was also inaugurated as a part of this nationwide project.

A colourful  programme was organized at Joychandi pahar station to mark the occasion. The programme was graced by the presence of Dr. Subhas Sarkar, Ex Minister of Education, Govt of India and Shri Vivekananda Bauri, Hon’ble MLA as chief guests. In addition, a large number of local residents, school children, media personnel, Social media influencers, families of Indian Army personnel, Sarpanch of the nearby villages, representatives from Govt. offices and other guests attended the event with great enthusiasm.

Joychandi Pahar station in Purulia District of West Bengal serves as a vital point for passenger and freight transportation. The redeveloped station under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme will provide world class travel facilities to the passengers and boost the economic growth of the area. It will also enhance local tourism. Redevelopment of Joychandi Pahar Station of Adra Division has been completed in record time to provide improved passenger amenities.

During the programme, winners of the essay and painting competitions themed “Mera Amrit Station” & “Operation Sindoor – Virta ki misaal” were also felicitated. Students from railway schools under Adra Division and members of the Scouts and Guides participated actively in the competition. A total of 36 participants were awarded by the chief guests. Before the ceremonial inauguration, a cultural programme was also organized o­n the theme of patriotism. Divisional Railway Manager/Adra, other railway officers and staff were also present o­n the occasion.
