NEW FOOT OVER BRIDGE AT JHARGRAM STATION
TO ENHANCE COMMUTER SAFETY AND CONVENIENCE

In a significant move to improve commuter safety and convenience, the Kharagpur Division has successfully completed the construction of a new 6-meter-wide Foot Over Bridge (FOB) at Jhargram Railway Station. This project was undertaken in collaboration with RVNL and the Railway authorities, with an estimated cost of Rs. 4 Crore (approx).
The newly constructed Foot Over Bridge is equipped with modern amenities, including wide walkways, non-slip flooring, improved lighting, and lift facilities. The bridge now connects all six platforms at Jhargram Station, allowing seamless access for passengers. The FOB is further enhanced by two lift facilities: one located on the south side of the station, which also serves as the main exit, and the other is situated between platforms No. 1 and 2.
The FOB provides passengers with a safe and convenient way to cross between platforms without having to navigate busy track crossings, significantly reducing the risk of accidents. This new addition will also help in decongesting the platforms, creating a smoother and more organized flow of foot traffic, particularly during peak hours.
