SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY-2025
Kolkata, 8th March, 2025:
International Women’s Day was celebrated by South Eastern Railway at its Headquarters, Garden Reach with great enthusiasm. Shri Anil Kumar Mishra, General Manager, South Eastern Railway was the Chief Guest at the programme. Shri Soumitra Majumdar, Additional General Manager, Principal Head of the Departments and women employees of different departments were present on the occasion. Dr. Mahua Verma, Principal Chief Personnel Officer, S E Railway welcomed the distinguished guests at the function. 55 women employees of SER were felicitated for outstanding contribution in their respective jobs in the function.
General Manager, Shri Anil Kumar Mishra appreciated the performance of nearly 7,661 women employees serving all over South Eastern Railway. He also praised the awardees for their dedication, sincerity and hard work. The General Manager mentioned about the International Women’s Day 2025 Theme – “Accelerate Action”. General Manager said that International Women’s Day thrives to celebrate women’s achievements, raise awareness about gender parity and focus on women empowerment in the field of social, economic and politics. Women employees on S. E. Railway are also working in safety categories like Track Maintainer, Loco Pilot, Guard, Station Manager etc. Lady RPF Personnel are also performing extremely well. Over the past years, HQ, all the Divisions and Workshop have organized number of events for women employees on gender sensitization, co-curricular activities, Health Awareness, Digital & financial Awareness, Fire Fighting, Seminars on Women’s rights, cultural programmes & self-defense etc.
A beautiful cultural programme was staged by the cultural team of Headquarters on this occasion.
