SER’S INITIATIVE FOR HOLI FESTIVAL

12th March, 2025

Keeping in view the demands and to clear additional rush pf passengers in regular trains running over important routes, South Eastern Railway has decided to run Special Trains during Holi festival.

South Eastern Railway is always ready to serve for convenience of passengers. South Eastern Railway is running 32 Holi Special Trains towards different directions.

·Ranchi-Gorakhpur-Ranchi Special (one pair)

·Shalimar-Charlapalli-Shalimar Special (two pairs)

·Santragachi-Charlapalli-Santragachi Special (two pairs)

·Santragachi-Darbhanga-Santragachi Special (one pair)

·Santragachi-MGR Chennai-Santragachi Special (two pairs)

·Santragachi-SMVT Bengaluru-Santragachi Special (two pairs)

·Tatanagar-Katihar-Tatanagar Special (one pair)

·Kolkata-Puri-Kolkata Special (three pairs)

·Tatanagar-Buxar-Tatanagar Special (one pair)

·Ranchi-Jaynagar-Ranchi Special (one pair)

This apart some Special Trains are also running over SER jurisdiction i.e Podanur-Barauni-Podanur Special (two pairs), Gondia-Patna-Patna Special (two pairs), Malda Town-Charlapalli-Malda Town Special (one pair), Charlapalli-Naharlagun-Charlapalli Special (four pairs) and 01929/01930 Gwalior-Puri-Gwalior (four pairs).

In order to facilitate the rail users, the railway has made special arrangements at major stations. Additional help desks, drinking water, cleanliness, first aid and other necessary facilities have been provided at the stations to ensure that passengers do not face any inconvenience.

Additionally, special teams of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP), along with railway staff, Scouts and Guides, and Civil Defence volunteers, managed the crowd efficiently. Monitoring of crowd by CCTV surveillance at major stations and the patrolling system at stations and trains was strengthened. The Railway administration deployed extra staff for punctual operation of special trains during the festive rush. Miking through Public Address System is being arranged to sensitize the passengers not to assemble un-necessarily at station premises and o­n platforms and also to follow safety protocols.
