INITIATIVES TAKEN BY RAILWAY PROTECTION FORCEOF SER
FOR CHILD PROTECTION

Railway Protection Force ofSouth Eastern Railwayis playing a significant role in providing security of rail travellers as well as in guarding the railway property and its vital installations.Safety and security of Child has always been an important concern of South Eastern Railway. In this regard, various initiatives like Operation “NanheFarishte” and Operation “Anti Human Trafficking drive have been taken by SER’s Railway Protection Force.
Operation “NanheFarishte”
'NanheFaristey' – a mission dedicated to rescuing children in need of care and protection across various Indian Railway Zones. 'NanheFaristey' is more than just an operation; it is a lifeline for thousands of children who find themselves in precarious situations. Through their efforts, the RPF has not only rescued children but also raised awareness about the plight of runaway and missing children, prompting further action and support from various stakeholders. The operation continues to evolve, adapting to new challenges and striving to create a safer environment for children across India's vast railway network.
On 27.11.2024, Shri DebdeepBasu, on duty TTI of South Eastern Railway found a minor boy who was travelling alone in 12262 Howrah - Mumbai Duranto Express. It was found that the boy, named Golu (Shubhojeet) fled away from home and was travelling alone. The Security Control of Chakradharpur informed the incident to the RPF Post, Tatanagar. Accordingly, on arrival of the said train at Tatanagar Railway station Ms. AnjumNisha Lady Sub Inspector along with staff of RPF Post/TATA attended the said train at 15.33 hrs and met the TTI.
The TTI handed over one rescued boy. Further the boy was brought to RPF Post/TATA and on being asked he disclosed his name as Golu (Shubhojeet)aged about 14 yrs, son of Sunil and Mamoni, resident of Sector 22 Grater Noida, (UP) and also stated that he fled away from home without informing to anyone as he was scolded by his mother.
Later, after observing all legal formalities the rescued minor boy was handed over to Pankaj Gupta, team member of Child line for further course of action as per guideline of CWC.
706 children in 2023 and 723 children in 2024 (up to October, 2024) boys and girls were rescued by RPF/SER who were in need of care and protection.
Operation “Anti Human Trafficking drive”
Operation “Anti Human Trafficking drive”is an initiative to rescue of victims from the clutches of traffickers, apprehension of traffickers.
14 trafficked persons (boys & girls) were rescued with arrest of 04 traffickers in 2023 and 138 trafficked persons (boys & girls) were rescued with arrest of 44 traffickers in 2024 (up to October, 2024) by Railway Protection Force of South Eastern Railway and legal actions were initiated.
