JALESWAR STATION OF KHARAGPUR DIVISION TO BE REDEVELOPED
UNDER AMRIT BHARAT STATION SCHEME

Indian Railways is moving ahead at a rapid pace in the direction of modernisation towards realising Prime Minister's vision of a new India. Under the Amrit Bharat Station scheme launched by the Govt of India, more than 1300 railway stations across the country are being redeveloped with state-of-the-art facilities. Altogether 72 stations of South Eastern Railway across its four divisions in the states of West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha have been earmarked for redevelopment under this scheme.
Jaleswar is one of the major stations in Kharagpur Division of South Eastern Railway. The station is on the Howrah-Chennai main line and well connected to important stations. This city is located in the Baleshwar district of Odisha.
The new Station Building will be built in iconic contemporary style and will be developed with segregated Arrival & Departure provisions with integration of both sides of the city. Station plaza will include adequate Parking facilities and Multi-Modal Integration enabling smooth traffic flows. Spacious Concourse with world-class facilities and passenger amenities will be constructed along with spaces for retail, cafeterias, recreational facilities, comfortable waiting areas, executive lounges, business meeting areas etc. The station will be equipped with better passenger information system, signage and digital displays for all kind of travel related information. The station will have Foot Overbridges, lifts and Escalators for comfort of passengers. The station will provide all kinds of Divyang friendly facilities, free Wi-fi, fire fighting arrangements, “One Station one Product” kiosks to promote local products etc.
The redevelopment of Jaleswar Railway Station will enhance Rail-transport infrastructure and boost the tourism for the state of Odisha.
