SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY INTENSIFIES CLEANLINESS DRIVE

Kolkata, 31^st August 2026:

South Eastern Railway has intensified its cleanliness drive across the stations and circulating areas with a special focus o­n maintaining a clean, hygienic and passenger-friendly environment. The cleanliness campaign is being undertaken across Kharagpur, Adra, Chakradharpur and Ranchi Divisions. Intensive cleaning activities are being carried out at station premises, platforms, circulating areas, waiting halls, foot over bridges, toilets, drinking water points and other passenger amenities. SER is also conducting Cleanliness Campaign through its official social media platforms, requesting the passengers to maintain cleanliness across stations and railway premises.

Special emphasis is being laid o­n regular removal of garbage, proper waste segregation, cleaning of passenger areas and timely disposal of waste. Cleanliness of tracks and areas adjoining station premises is also being monitored closely. Officers and supervisors have been instructed to undertake regular inspections of stations and ensure that identified deficiencies are addressed promptly. Adequate availability of dustbins and proper disposal of solid waste are also being ensured as part of the campaign. As part of the initiative, awareness activities are being conducted to encourage passengers and railway users to maintain cleanliness and refrain from littering. Passengers are being urged to use designated dustbins and extend their cooperation in keeping railway premises clean.

South Eastern Railway is committed to providing clean, hygienic and comfortable railway stations to passengers. The Railway administration has appealed to all passengers and members of the public to actively participate in the cleanliness drive and contribute towards maintaining cleanliness across railway premises.
