| SAFETY MANAGEMENT: A safety management system is a formal framework for integrating safety into day-to-day operation and includes safety goals and performance targets, risk assessment, responsibilities and authorities, rules and procedures, monitoring and evaluation process. MISSION STATEMENT: Continuously assess risk to safety in the South Eastern Railway system and mitigate/eliminate the same by taking appropriate measure by attention to both the human factor and technology, never losing sight with the belief that such risk mitigation will ultimately lead to optimization in transport capacity and output.
MISSION PLAN: In light of the mission objective as expressed in the statement above, action plans have been drawn up by each of the five departments directly concerned with train running as also the four divisions. Since an inspection regime is a critical tool of risk assessment, this plan also lays down inspection quotas of officers and supervisors of the concerned departments and division.
OBJECTIVE: To reduce the number of both consequential and non-consequential accidents over S.E.Railway system and to minimize the fatalities in accidents towards zero level. |
