SER TRAIN SERVICES PARTIALLY AFFECTED DURING ALL INDIA GENERAL STRIKE

Kolkata, 2nd Sept. 2015:

Train services of South Eastern Railway have been partially affected due to agitation at different stations over South Eastern Railway in view of All India General Strike called by Central Trade Unions.

However, all up trains left Howrah/Shalimar and Santragachi as per schedule. The Down trains originating from different destinations arrived Howrah a little behind schedule o­n account of agitation at various station enroute.

In Kharagpur Division, rail blockades and agitations were staged for sometime at Balasore, Jaleswar, Soro, Kanthi, Mecheda, Bauria, Birshibpur, Radhamohanpur and Ramrajatala stations and were withdrawn later o­n. In Adra Division agitation was staged at Kotshila station and also withdrawn after a while.In the Chakradharpur Division agitation was held at Barbil Station for about 25 minutes.

As a result, in suburban section 4 pairs of EMU locals & 7 passenger trains were cancelled and 1 passenger train was also short- terminated at Santragachi instead of Howrah .

This apart, the following trains have been rescheduled:-

·12073 Howrah-Bhubaneswar Janshatabdi Express has been rescheduled to leave Howrah at 16.10 hrs, instead of 13.25 hrs. today.

·12839 Howrah-Chennai Mail has been rescheduled to leave Howrah at 00.45 hrs o­n 03.09.2015 instead of 23.45 hrs o­n 02.09.2015.

·18615 Howrah-Hatia Kriya Yoga Express has been rescheduled to leave Howrah

at 01:15 hours o­n 3.09.2015 instead of 22:10 hours o­n 02.09.2015 due to late running of link rake.
